Back in October of last year (2009) Matt was sent to play the 3rd Infantry Division's mascot, Rocky, at the Army Ten Miler in Washington DC. Because there really wasn't anything else going on in our life, and we were still newly married, Rex and I drove up there to spend the time with him and see a few of the DC sites.
While Matt played dress up, Rex and I hung out at the hotel room waiting for him to get off work, and then we went and saw the Capitol Building and Washington Memorial from afar, and then walked around a few of the Smithsonian museums (the Air and Space, as well as the Natural History). My Dad also happened to be there for the Ten Miler as well, so one night we got to have dinner with him since I hadn't seen him since moving out. I want to go back sometime and finish going though the rest of the Smithsonians, as well as seeing the White House, and all the other touristy things. Someday...
